Calling all Kincaid artists! Did you know that there is a program designed for you to show off your creative talents? The Reflections program is an art contest sponsored by the National PTA. This program is open to all Kincaid students. Children can enter original work in any of the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film/Video Production, Literature, Photography, Musical Composition and Visual Arts. Students can enter in multiple categories, and may submit more than one entry per category.
The Reflections theme for 2016-17 is “What is your story?” Start looking for inspiration and show us how you would complete this sentence.
Instructions and entry forms are posted on the Kincaid PTA website. Collection boxes will be placed in front of the office beginning Monday, September 15. All entries are due by 2pm on Friday, October 7th. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED!
Local artists will judge the Kincaid entries. All participants and their parents are invited to a reception honoring participation the evening of Thursday, October 16. Winners from each category will be announced during the reception. All of the children’s artwork will be on display that evening for you to enjoy.
This program is an excellent way for our children to stretch their imaginations and for us to encourage their creative talents. Find out more about the program online and download entry forms: Reflections 2017 – What is your story?

There is no doubt about it, our kids love Harry Potter! We would love to buy a full set of paperback Harry Potters for every third, fourth and fifth grade class at Kincaid Elementary. Our goal at the book fair this fall is to raise a $1000 to make this happen. Look for the “Quarters for Harry” jugs in the book fair next week and drop in what you can. If we raise the $1000, Mrs. Perisino will dress like a chicken on Foundation Dress-Up Day, October 28. Every coin counts!
