Your voice needs to be heard!! As a parent advocate, the most important way to make a difference is to vote! Whether in a local, state, or national office, the elected officials are making decisions affecting our children, including their education. If you are not registered to vote, you still have time. And you can now do it from your computer! To register on-line, visit either www.declareyourself.com or www.rockthevote.com. Don't have a computer? Applications forms are also available at the Elections Office, government service centers, and senior centers. Kincaid Ambassador (mentor) Program
Kincaid PTA is offering a new program this year to new families at Kincaid. We recognize that starting school or moving to a new school is difficult for students and families. The Ambassador program is a voluntary program that pairs new families with families that have been at Kincaid for several years. Our goal is to make new families welcome and help make their transition to Kincaid easier. Please download and fill out the Ambassador Form and email it to Jennifer Mannelly. Congratulations Kincaid PTA!
This July, Kincaid PTA was recognized at the Georgia Convention and Leadership Training Conference for its outstanding work throughout the 2007-2008 year. Georgia PTA awarded Kincaid Third Place for Outstanding Local PTA Unit for elementary schools with less than 750 students. Kincaid also received a Second Place award for Communications and a First Place award for Membership.
At the Convention, Kincaid was asked to participate in a Best Ideas Fair, showcasing the efforts of our Parent Involvement, Membership and Communication Committees. In addition, our PTA was recognized for achieving Model PTA status and reaching 100% membership last year. We were also recognized for achieving our Parent Involvement Certification.
This recognition is the result of countless parents, teachers, and Kincaid administrators volunteering thousands of hours for the benefit of our students. Thank you for all of your passion and dedication. Congratulations on a job well done!
Kincaid PTA Priority Reports Available Online
Each year, our PTA prepares Priority Reports to be sent to Eastern Cobb County Council, 9th District and Georgia PTA. These reports are summaries of some of the programs that our PTA offers, what worked and what didn’t, and suggestions of changes to make the programs more effective. This year, our committees worked very hard and we were proud to brag about their accomplishments. The links below are the final reports submitted to ECCC, 9th District and Georgia PTA for award consideration. The awards should be announced soon, so check back in April to see how well our PTA did. Regardless of awards, our PTA worked hard this year to provide quality programs to our Kincaid families and to enrich the education of each student. Thanks to all of you who helped us achieve this goal.
